The workshop exceeded my expectations because
it made me realize that I am the sole driver of my future and can actually
make happen that which I want to happen by taking my time and focusing
and setting realistic goals.
The best thing about the workshop was that it was very interactive and
it makes you think about what is important in your life. It is not a
sit and watch program, which is great.
The biggest thing I learned was how to make daunting tasks manageable.
My to do list is now a list that I live by because it gets done every
day. And for those days that I am unable to complete my to-do-list, I
am now more comfortable with carrying it over to the next day without
feeling like a “failure” (for not doing it all in one day)
The best thing about Astrid is [her] energy and positive attitude. She
made me feel very welcome and made it all personal. [She wasn’t] just
speaking to a group of people; she was speaking to me as an individual,
which is great and helps to motivate me even more.
Thank you for all your help, Astrid. You really help break things down
and put it in a light that makes it realistic and possible.

While I do consider myself a pretty good time
manager, I learned that you also need a positive attitude; moreover,
that you need to be able to wake up in the morning with a tough day ahead
of you and see it as an opportunity to shine rather than a day of toil....After
the class I was able to prioritize, include enough time for rest, and
be positive throughout the day. Sure enough, everything worked out really
smoothly and my stress level was considerably lower.
I liked your enthusiasm and the fact that you knew you were talking about.
Your enthusiasm to me translated into the will to help others. You had
very valuable information to share and you made it a point to present
it effectively so that everyone who attended could take something from
it. Thanks for that.

When I attended the “Take Charge: Keys to a Successful Legal Career” my office hosted, I went in with an open mind but no expectations about how useful the workshop would be for me. I was surprised by the thought provoking content which, coupled with Astrid’s creative energy, led me to think in new ways about managing my daily tasks, asking for work experiences I had only been hoping for, and thinking about how I use my time. The creative and positive approach has been helpful to me in the months since. I strongly recommend the workshop as an enjoyable and productive way to rethink how you are using your time and energy at work and, if you are ready, to ask yourself hard questions, such as what your goals truly are.

I learned a great deal of organizational skills
and time management skills. The workshop arose such a great awareness
in me of what I was doing with my so-called free time, or how much time
I was wasting on non-productive and useless things.
After the workshops I started to always look at the bright side of life
and things and feed myself with the positive rather that the negative....
I really liked the fact the structure of the workshops was designed in
a way to be easily accessible and helpful for different kinds of people.

I left the workshop with a better idea of who
I am and what I should do with my life. As a result of the workshop,
I dedicated more time to my music, and have devoted a lot of time to
making that career path happen...whereas before the workshop I had so
many things I wanted to do and was all over the place.
You are great at following up with people and very well organized. [Y]ou
really care about the people you are coaching and you want what is best
for them according to their individual needs.

Workshops and Training
I offer workshops and training both on a customized basis as well as on topics including career planning, time management, goal-setting and business development. The focus of my workshops is to help people take charge of their lives by:
• Knowing who they really are: their attitudes, their values, their passions
and their strengths
• Setting goals that are consistent with their authentic selves
• Identifying external and internal blocks to success
• Taking actions to reach their goals and overcome obstacles to success.
My workshops are packed with information, and are designed to be a lot
of fun with ample opportunity for audience participation. With ground
rules of confidentiality and respect for each other’s points of view,
participants freely share their views and their challenges as they
learn new skills and tools. Participants in my workshops find that
they are engaged, challenged, provoked and stretched and inspired to
take positive action.
For each workshop, I create power points, outlines and worksheets so
that participants are able to follow along and actually do a lot of work
during the session. The result is that they have a complete set of written
materials that they can continue to use after the workshop.
Examples of recent workshops include:
Take Charge! Keys to a Successful Legal Career
This three-part workshop starts with assessment tools designed to help participants figure out what they really want from their legal careers. We then set goals that reflect participant’s values, strengths and interests and learn how to break actions down into manageable steps. Finally, we examine two of the main obstacles to successful goal completion—time and stress—and learn strategies to overcome these challenges.
Create Your Ideal Career Plan
In this workshop, participants define their idea of success and set career goals that will help them achieve that success. Participants then identify the key external and internal obstacles to achieving career success and we come up with strategies to address these challenges. Finally, participants create their career plan for the next year.
The Art of Goal-Setting
In this workshop, participants create a vision of success.
From that, we set goals using the SMART-goal process, making sure that
the goals reflect the values.
In Part II, we examine the external and internal blocks to successful
goal-achievement and come up with strategies to overcome those blocks.
In the final section, we learn how to break down goals into manageable
action steps in order to make goals a reality.
The Art of Time Management
We start by identifying participants’ negative attitudes with respect to time management and how they can tap into their reserves of positive energy to reduce their stress around time.
We then learn how to set values-based priorities and we explore time-management strategies to help be more productive so participants can accomplish their priorities.
The Musician’s Guide to Life Balance
This workshop incorporates goal-setting and time-management to show participants how to set values-based goals and priorities and learn time-management strategies that enable them to be more productive.
Rainmaking for Women Lawyers
This workshop offers strategies to women lawyers on how to generate business in a way that works for you. We identify the greatest challenges to business development and come up with strategies that each participant can comfortably follow in order to begin generating business.
I also offer group coaching sessions to complement my workshops. Group coaching is an effective way for workshop participants to implement their new learning. The sessions are a forum for discussing the challenges that people encounter in applying what they have learned from the workshop. Group sessions also provide the support and ingenuity of collaboration, which often produces new solutions that lead to success. Click here for more information.
